Rebuild confidence, without the real-world risk
Helping someone face their fear of falling usually means real-world practice - steps, slopes, ladders, kerbs. But for an older adult who's already fearful, that practice carries the very risk you're trying to reduce, it's hard to grade, and it's almost impossible to repeat consistently.Resteady removes that barrier. Clinicians deliver graded exposure to the height, edge and balance cues that drive fear of falling entirely in the room, with zero physical fall risk - so confidence work that was impractical or unsafe to arrange becomes a standard, repeatable session.

Confidence you can build at the right pace
Resteady gives clinicians a live exposure environment they adapt in the moment - shaped by the person, their balance confidence, and your clinical judgement.

That Means:
Adjust intensity mid-session based on how the person is coping - dial it back instantly if it's too much, not after the session when it's too late
Height, edge and balance cues that feel real, faced safely with no physical fall risk
A graded, repeatable way to rebuild confidence that's impractical or unsafe to arrange in the real world
A confidence-building tool your falls pathway is missing
Resteady lets you deliver structured, repeatable exposure for the fear of falling - clinician-controlled, delivered entirely in your setting.
01 The problem you already know
Fear of falling drives activity restriction, deconditioning and withdrawal - and paradoxically raises real fall risk. But rehearsing the trigger in the real world is unsafe, hard to grade, and hard to repeat.
02 What changes with Resteady
The clinician controls the session throughout, adjusting the environment in real time. The person never leaves the room, and the height and balance cues behind their fear become something you can work on safely, on the day.
03 Join the pilot
We're onboarding a small number of partner services to shape the experience before wider rollout. Request a demo to see the current build and talk through fit.

Less prep. More confidence. Better engagement.
Resteady gives you a live exposure environment you shape to each person in real time - so sessions feel relevant, manageable, and more likely to keep people progressing.

01 People progress at their own pace
Every session adapts to where the person is. You set the starting level, follow a structured plan, then adjust intensity in real time. If they're struggling, dial it back instantly - no being locked into a level that's too much or too little.
02 Face the cues that drive the fear, safely
Height, edges, drops, instability - the cues that sit at the core of fear of falling, faced in a controlled, repeatable way with no physical fall risk.
03 Fits your existing workflow
In-clinic delivery with you present throughout. Lightweight onboarding, clear suitability guidance, and a setup designed for falls services, physiotherapy, community and care settings. One VR headset for the person, one screen for your dashboard. No complex infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
For clinicians, partners, and media. If you have a specific question, request a demo or contact us.
Who is Resteady for?
+
Resteady is for clinicians and services supporting older adults with fear of falling and low balance confidence - falls-prevention and physiotherapy services, mental-health clinicians, and senior and residential care providers.
Is this self-guided or therapist-led?
+
Clinician-led. A clinician sets the level, runs the session, and adjusts intensity throughout. It is not for unsupervised home use.
What does a typical session look like?
+
Before the session, you input the phobia, patient context, and review an AI-generated treatment plan with escalating scenarios described in plain language. During the session, the patient wears a VR headset while you monitor a live dashboard - watching what they see, tracking their distress levels, and adjusting the scenario in real time using preset controls or free-text instructions. If they need a break, one click moves them to a calming safe scene.
How is this different from other VR therapy products?
+
Most VR therapy tools use pre-built environments or pre-recorded video - every patient sees the same thing regardless of where they are in treatment. Rephobia generates each scenario in real time, so you can personalise and adjust the experience live. That means better-matched exposure, which means faster progress and fewer patients dropping out because the scenario was too intense or too generic.
What does Resteady help with?
+
Fear of falling and the height, edge and balance confidence that underpins it. Resteady is graded exposure to those cues, delivered safely in clinic.
What hardware is required?
+
A standard VR headset (currently Meta Quest) for the patient, and a screen or laptop for your therapist dashboard. Setup is lightweight and designed to fit existing clinic spaces without specialist equipment.
How do you handle safety and suitability?
+
You're present throughout every session and have full control - including a pause function (which moves the patient to a calming safe scene), real-time intensity adjustment, and an immediate stop button. Clear contraindication guidance is provided during onboarding. Rephobia supports your clinical judgement - it doesn't replace it.
Is Resteady a medical device?
+
Resteady runs on Rephobia's clinical VR exposure product, which is on a pathway to Class I Software as a Medical Device registration. It is delivered clinician-controlled, as part of a supervised pathway - not for unsupervised use.
What stage are you at, and what are you looking for from clinics?
+
We've completed an initial pilot study and are now onboarding a small number of partner clinics to refine the therapist workflow in real sessions. We're looking for clinics that deliver exposure-based therapy and are open to testing the platform, giving feedback, and helping shape the product before wider rollout.
Can you share evidence or studies?
+
We've completed our pilot trial with Queen's University Belfast - a comparative study evaluating the anxiety-induction and realism of our approach against a 360° video condition. We're currently preparing the findings for publication. Request a demo and we can walk you through what we've learned so far.
How do I get involved?
+
Request a demo using the form below. Include your role, setting, and what you're interested in - whether that's a pilot partnership, research collaboration, or just learning more.
